78.2 percent of Mahomet-Seymour High School's 2015 graduating class enrolled in college

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 78.2 percent of Mahomet-Seymour High School's 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.

The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.

For MSHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 76.1 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.

Among high schools in Champaign, the class of 2015 college readiness rates at and were all lower than at MSHS. The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two and four year colleges.

Enrollment at MSHS in 2015 was 964. 223 (23.13 percent) were seniors.

Also according to ISBE, 68.6 percent of MSHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, versus an average of 46 percent statewide.

All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."

Only 42.4 percent of MSHS students were college ready in all four subjects, according to ISBE.
