The Urbana City Council met April 4 to approve a lower speed limit for sections of Green Street and Springfield Avenue.
The speed limit will drop to 25 miles per hour on Green Street between Wright Street and Lincoln Avenue, and on Springfield Avenue between Wright Street and Lincoln Avenue.
The council cited a concern for public safety as the reason for the changes, which were approved by a 7-0 vote.
