Champaign Unit 4 School District will launch its 2016 Young Entrepreneurs Program with a kick-off event Tuesday at EnterpriseWorks.
The program connects Unit 4 students with local entrepreneur mentors who advise them outside of school hours on the development of an original business plan the students can enact after graduation. This year's program includes 14 young entrepreneurs, who will all be introduced at the event, along with their families and mentors.
Marissa Siebel, co-founder and vice president of Inteliwheels, will deliver a keynote address.
“We are excited to help students realize their dreams of creating and launching their own businesses," Marc Changnon, district coordinator for Career Programs & Community Partnerships said. “Our students are working to meet the challenges of the competitive job market that awaits them after graduation. The initiative they are showing with their participation in this program outside the classroom speaks to the drive and persistence our students have to achieve success."
The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EnterpriseWorks is at the University of Illinois' Research Park, 60 Hazelwood Drive, in Champaign.
