The City of Champaign participated in the 15th Annual CU Pride Fest, which took place from October 16 to October 26. The event, organized by Uniting Pride, brought together people from across the region for a week of activities focused on unity, visibility, and inclusion.

City staff prepared for the parade by building and decorating a float. On Saturday, October 25, council members, city staff, and community members joined together to walk alongside the float during the Pride Parade through Downtown Urbana. The city's entry received the Best Overall in Show award.

At the Pride Fest Fair, the Equity and Engagement Department operated an information booth where staff engaged with attendees, provided resources, handed out giveaways, and emphasized the city’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and equity. Organizers said that Pride Fest remains an important occasion for community connection.
