Systems Administrator Colleen Kilian from the Information Technologies Department represented the City of Champaign at the National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, from October 14 to 17, 2025.

She also led a solo presentation titled “Redesign Real Talk: How I Took the First Step Toward DOJ Compliance,” where she shared lessons learned from her experience leading a website redesign to meet accessibility and compliance standards. Kilian currently serves on NAGW’s Board of Directors as both an At-Large Director and Treasurer.

The conference brought together more than 114 digital and web professionals from across the country. Attendees exchanged ideas on topics such as accessibility, user experience, content strategy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence tools, and best practices in digital governance. The event included hands-on workshops and peer networking opportunities focused on making government websites and platforms more efficient and inclusive.
