Champaign seeks design firms for new police station fuel island project

The City of Champaign has announced a request for letters of interest from firms interested in providing professional engineering design services for a new fuel island at the city’s police station. The city plans to use a qualification-based selection process in accordance with its Administrative Policy 2.08. The project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Firms are invited to submit their letters of interest, after which the city will review all submissions and select the firm that best meets its requirements for an interview. According to the city, "The City of Champaign (City) invites your firm to submit a letter of interest to provide the City with professional engineering design services for a new fuel island. The City intends to use a qualification-based selection process for the procurement of these services (City of Champaign Administrative Policy 2.08). This selection is for this specific project, with work starting in the first quarter of calendar year 2026. The City will review all submitted Letters of Interest and select the firm that best meet the City’s requirement for an interview. Review the Letter of Interest."

This request is part of ongoing efforts by the city to improve infrastructure supporting public safety operations.
