Champaign Fire, Police, Equity and Engagement, METCAD, and Carle Arrow Ambulance began Fire Prevention Week activities on Sunday, October 5 at Fire Station 1. The event started with Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen presenting the Fire Prevention Week Proclamation to open the Open House and Resource Fair. Council Member Clayborn was also present at the kickoff.
During the week, residents had opportunities to visit neighborhood fire stations and meet local firefighters. These events aimed to increase community engagement and raise awareness about fire safety.
The activities are part of an ongoing effort by city departments to connect with residents and promote public safety during Fire Prevention Week.
