The Illinois women's basketball team will host its annual Field Trip Day game on Tuesday, November 18, against Murray State at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Central Time and admission will be free for all fans.
Field Trip Day has become a recurring promotional event for the program since the 2016-17 season, with the exception of the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19 restrictions. Last year's Field Trip Day saw record attendance numbers, drawing 13,486 spectators, which set a new Field Trip Day record and marked the third-highest crowd in the history of Illinois women's basketball. The Illini won that game against Le Moyne with a score of 94-25.
This year’s event will again feature participation from University of Illinois colleges, campus organizations, and community groups. These groups will be part of a pregame activity fair offering interactive experiences for students attending the game. Groups interested in hosting an activity booth can contact Parker Gray at gray31@illinois.edu.
Head coach Shauna Green commented on last year’s atmosphere and looks forward to building on that momentum: "Between the success of last year's team and the unforgettable atmosphere at the 2024 Field Trip Day game, head coach Shauna Green and her squad continue to take everything to the next level and can't wait to see what this year's game brings."
Reserved season ticket holders are not guaranteed their usual seats for this game but will have an opportunity to claim tickets. Details regarding ticket claims will be provided directly to season ticket holders ahead of the event.
Schools wishing to participate must register by filling out an online form before November 7. Any additional questions can be directed to Parker Gray via email.
