Illinois women's basketball announces non-conference schedule with nine home games

The University of Illinois announced its women’s basketball non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season, which will include nine home games at State Farm Center. The schedule marks the fourth year under head coach Shauna Green.

Illinois will open with an exhibition game against Maryville (Mo.) on October 30. The regular season begins on November 4 with a matchup against Southeast Missouri State, followed by a home game versus Illinois State on November 9. Two of the next three games will be played away from home, including return trips to Oregon State on November 14 and Florida State on November 23.

Other notable non-conference games include the McBride Homes Braggin' Rights series against Missouri in Columbia on December 10. Illinois will also host Murray State (November 18), Western Kentucky (November 26), and Le Moyne (November 30). In December, North Texas (December 14), Jackson State (December 19), and Bellarmine (December 21) are scheduled to visit Champaign.

The date for an early Big Ten game has yet to be announced, but it is expected to fall between December 4 and December 9. The full Big Ten schedule is pending release, though opponents for both home and away conference matchups were announced earlier this year.

Big Ten home games for Illinois this season include Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers, Wisconsin, UCLA, and USC. Away games are set against Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue, Washington, and Oregon. Northwestern appears twice as both a home and away opponent.

Season tickets for the upcoming campaign are now available. Under Shauna Green's leadership over the past three seasons at Illinois, the team has achieved a record of 38-11 at home with four victories over AP top-25 ranked teams: No.12 Iowa (January 1st ,2023), No.14 Indiana (February19th ,2024), No.19 Florida State(November7th ,2024),and No.23 Iowa(January9th ,2025).

In her tenure so far at Illinois,Greeen’s teams have tallied63 wins,captured the program’s first-ever postseason championship during the2024 WBIT,and posted three consecutive top-five attendance seasons at their home arena.The Illini have also earned six wins over AP Top25-ranked opponents,double-digit home victories in each of her first three years—the first such streak in school history—and won their first NCAA Tournament game in a quarter-century.The incoming recruiting class is ranked seventh nationally by espnW.
