Rep. Mary Miller, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 15th district, recently used her social media platform to express concerns about public safety and parental rights in education.

On August 17, 2025, Miller posted: "HORRIFYING: An illegal alien with a California CDL killed 3 innocent Americans in Florida.

@GovPritzker is allowing the SAME reckless policy in Illinois, putting lives in danger.

Every illegal behind the wheel of a semi is a danger. END THIS NOW before more Americans are put https://t.co/ok6mmeMj6w" She followed this post immediately with another tweet linking to additional information: "https://t.co/MQ9Rla7PCh"

The following day, on August 18, 2025, Miller addressed the issue of mental health screenings for minors in schools by stating: "Children should not undergo mental health screenings without written parental consent.

This should not be controversial."

Miller has been an active figure in Illinois politics since she replaced John Shimkus in Congress in 2021. She was elected after defeating Paul Lange in the 2022 general election by a wide margin and previously defeated Erika Weaver in the 2020 general election. These electoral victories have solidified her position as a representative of Illinois’ 15th district.

Her recent posts reflect ongoing debates at both state and national levels regarding immigration policies affecting commercial driver’s licenses and protocols around student mental health assessments.
