Miller, born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently residing in Oakland, has been an active voice on topics ranging from presidential actions to state governance and language policy.
On July 14, 2025, Miller criticized President Joe Biden’s use of autopen for issuing pardons. She stated: "Joe Biden’s autopen pardons are illegitimate and must be revoked."
Later that day, Miller addressed Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s policies in another post dated July 14, 2025. She wrote: "JB Pritzker is trying to run from his disastrous record, but Illinois isn't fooled.

In a subsequent tweet posted on July 14, 2025, Miller commented on federal agency language options. She said: "You shouldn’t have to press 1 for English when calling a federal agency.

Mary Miller succeeded John Shimkus as representative of Illinois’ 15th district after graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a BA.
