Congresswoman Mary Miller of Illinois questioned Governor JB Pritzker during a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing focused on sanctuary state policies. The session, titled "A Hearing with Sanctuary State Governors," saw Miller challenge Pritzker on the effects of his immigration policies.

Miller criticized the governor for not cooperating with federal immigration enforcement, pointing to crimes committed by undocumented immigrants in Illinois. She argued that these individuals should not have been allowed into the United States and claimed that such policies endanger American lives.

The congresswoman stated, “Illegal aliens in our state have overwhelmed local communities, causing untold pain and suffering, while costing Illinois taxpayers billions.” She further accused Governor Pritzker of prioritizing undocumented immigrants over the residents of Illinois. “Governor, from what I can tell, you are doing everything in your power to roll out the red carpet for illegal aliens and protect them, all at the expense of the working people of Illinois. Your policies have been disastrous for our state, and would be disastrous for this country,” she added.
