Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district, has shared a series of tweets addressing various political and social issues. Her statements reflect her perspectives on recent events and policies.
On June 9, 2025, Rep. Miller referenced comments made by JB Pritzker regarding "mass protests" and attributed ongoing disturbances in California to Democratic strategies. She stated, "Don't forget, just a few weeks ago, JB Pritzker called for 'mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption... The chaos in California isn't an accident. It's the Democrats' blueprint for America."
The following day, June 10, she criticized teachers' unions in a tweet highlighting educational shortcomings in the United States. She remarked that while many children struggle with literacy at grade level, teachers' unions are instead focused on fostering disorder and supporting insurrectionist activities. Her statement read: "While millions of kids in America can’t read or write at grade level, teachers’ unions are too busy stoking chaos in our streets and enabling an insurrection. Disgraceful."
Later on June 10, Rep. Miller commented on immigration enforcement actions by ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement). She reported that ICE had apprehended over two thousand illegal aliens within a single day and expressed support for such measures as part of reclaiming national sovereignty: "Last week, ICE arrested a record 2,368 illegal aliens in just 24 hours... If you break our laws, you don’t belong here. You’re going home."
Mary Miller has served as a congresswoman since replacing John Shimkus in 2021 and was born in Oak Park before residing in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
