Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district, has recently made a series of statements on social media regarding the situation in Los Angeles and political developments in Illinois. These comments reflect her views on law enforcement and governance.

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Miller expressed support for President Trump's decision to deploy the United States military to Los Angeles amidst ongoing unrest. She stated, "President Trump is right to send in the United States military to Los Angeles. This kind of lawless behavior may slide in Mexico, but it will NEVER be tolerated on American soil. Order will be restored."

Later that day, she raised concerns about external influences potentially exacerbating the situation in Los Angeles. In her post at 17:35 UTC, she claimed that "illegal rioters...aren’t acting alone," suggesting they are being supplied with various items including earplugs and gas masks. She questioned who might be orchestrating these events and called for answers.

In another statement made at 20:45 UTC on the same day, Rep. Miller criticized JB Pritzker's governance approach by drawing parallels between Illinois and California’s perceived state of disorder. She asserted that "JB Pritzker wants to turn Illinois into California — lawless streets and total chaos."

Mary Miller has been an active political figure since replacing John Shimkus in Congress in 2021. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she now resides in Oakland and holds a BA from Eastern Illinois University.
