Illinois soccer head coach Katie Hultin has announced the addition of Myra Schneider to the Fighting Illini roster for the 2025 season. Schneider, a midfielder from Acton, California, joins the team after spending 2024 at Kentucky sidelined due to injury.

During her freshman year at Oregon in 2023, Schneider made 12 appearances and five starts, scoring one goal on six shots. Her background includes participation in the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Training Center and being named to the Girls DA Spring Showcase U14/15 Best XI by Top Drawer in May 2019. She was also valedictorian of Vasquez High School's class of 2023 and holds a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do Karate.

Coach Hultin expressed enthusiasm about Schneider's addition: "We are excited to add Myra to the team. She provides some great experience in the midfield, has good vision and will be impactful on both sides of the ball. Not only is she a great athlete, she is a phenomenal student and a good teammate."

Schneider shared her reasons for choosing Illinois: "I chose Illinois because of the cohesion that exists within the coaching staff, driven by their shared vision and style of play, which provides a high-level, competitive atmosphere."
