Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 15th district, shared a series of statements on social media expressing her views on religious faith and political issues.
On May 18, 2025, Rep. Miller quoted a biblical passage from Isaiah: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - Isaiah 55:8-9.
The following day, May 19, 2025, she criticized President Joe Biden's immigration policies by stating that "Under Joe Biden, more than 22 MILLION illegal aliens were let into this country, and many were unlawfully allowed to access federal benefits." She added that it would be "a slap in the face to Americans if Congress allowed this to continue."
Later that day, Rep. Miller addressed what she perceives as hypocrisy within the Democratic Party regarding social issues. She asserted that "The Democrats don’t care about 'equity' and 'inclusion.' What they’re really pushing is racial discrimination and division." She concluded with a remark suggesting some things remain unchanged.
Mary Miller was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. A graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a BA degree, she has been serving in Congress since replacing John Shimkus in 2021.
