Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district, has shared her views on several issues through a series of tweets. The congresswoman replaced John Shimkus in 2021 and has been vocal about various national concerns.
On May 15, 2025, Rep. Miller expressed her stance on Planned Parenthood by stating "Planned Parenthood is the face of death, deception, and destruction." She criticized the organization for profiting from abortion and gender-related procedures while taxpayers bear the financial burden amidst a $37 trillion national debt.
In another tweet posted later that day, she addressed immigration laws, asserting that "Illegal aliens are abusing our laws to gain automatic citizenship for their kids." She urged the Supreme Court to reconsider birthright citizenship policies.
Further elaborating on immigration issues, Rep. Miller tweeted about perceived benefits for illegal immigrants compared to American citizens experiencing homelessness. She stated "Only in America can you break the law to get in, get rewarded with endless benefits..." and called for congressional action to reverse these policies.
Mary Miller was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. She holds a BA from Eastern Illinois University.
