FOIA Request to University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign Regarding Chinese National Students on May 14, 2025.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in governmental affairs, we have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. This request seeks detailed information concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the university.

The specific requests include:

1. Documents or lists identifying all current students who are Chinese Nationals, along with their respective departments. If student names are protected, we requested the total number of such students and a breakdown by department.

2. Information regarding scholarships awarded to these students, including the amount and source of each scholarship.

3. Details on recipients of scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council, unless already covered in the previous request.

4. Policies or procedures outlining how the university monitors students, including Chinese Nationals, to safeguard its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.

This request is made on behalf of Chambana Sun and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing transparency through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.
