Fighting Illini women's golf team will compete in the NCAA Columbus Regional at The Ohio State University Golf Course from May 5-7. The Illinois team has been seeded eighth in a field of 12 teams participating in the three-day tournament.

The regional competition will take place on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State, known for its renovation by golf legend Jack Nicklaus in 2006. The course is set at a par 72 stretch over 6,319 yards.

This tournament is one of six regional competitions hosted to determine the teams advancing to the NCAA Women's Golf National Championships. In total, 72 teams and 36 individuals are involved in the regionals. From this pool, 156 players—including the top five teams and the best-performing individual from each regional—will secure their spots in the championships finals.

The national championships are scheduled for May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, with the University of Texas serving as the host. The last three days of this event will be broadcast live by the GOLF Channel.

The teams participating in the Columbus Regional include Arkansas, LSU, Ohio State, Kansas, Houston, SMU, UNLV, Illinois, Kent State, Illinois State, Xavier, and Oakland. Individual participants from various universities such as Minnesota, Harvard, Eastern Michigan, and Michigan will also compete.

The lineup for Illinois features Victoria Zheng, Anna Ritter, Yurang Li, Brielle Mapanao, Lexanne Halama, with Erica Lee as a substitute. This marks the 11th regional appearance for the Illinois team, which previously reached ninth place at the 2019 NCAA Championships.

Live scoring for the tournament can be tracked online, with results and recaps available after each day.
