CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The NCAA Urbana Regional, hosted by the Fighting Illini men's golf team at Atkins Golf Club, is set for May 12-14, 2025. The event will feature 13 teams and 10 individual golfers striving for a place in the 2025 NCAA Championship.

The 14th-ranked Illini, the third seed in the regional, will face competitors including No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 10 North Carolina, and No. 23 Texas Tech. Other participating teams are Long Beach State, UNLV, Houston, Marquette, Troy, Pacific, NC State, Illinois State, and Wright State.

The individual competitors listed for the event are Hunter Thomson (Michigan), Jack Schoenberger (Kentucky), Paul Beauvy (Iowa State), Patton Samuels (Austin Peay), Anthony Delisanti (Valparaiso), Clay Merchant (Indiana), Ryan Ford (Cincinnati), Ben Cors (Dayton), Titus Boswell (IU Indianapolis), and Trey Wall (Murray State).

The top five teams and the best individual golfer not on an advancing team from each of the six NCAA regional sites will move forward to the NCAA Championship at North Course, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Carlsbad, California, scheduled for May 23-28.

Illinois is entering its 17th consecutive NCAA regional. Under the guidance of coach Mike Small, now in his 25th year, Illinois has secured six regional titles. Last year, the team won the NCAA Stanford Regional, with Max Herendeen delivering a medalist performance.

The Illini aim for their 16th NCAA Championship spot in 17 years, following their success last season where they excelled at stroke play at La Costa and progressed to their ninth NCAA Match Play, a record matched only by Oklahoma State since 2009.

The other regional sites include Auburn, Alabama (Auburn University Club), Tallahassee, Florida (Seminole Legacy Golf Club), Amherst, Virginia (Poplar Grove Golf Course), Reno, Nevada (Montreux Golf Club), and Bremerton, Washington (Gold Mountain Golf Club).
