Illinois preparations outlined for 2025-26 Big Ten Conference matchups

The Big Ten Conference has released the list of conference opponents for the 2025-26 men's basketball season. For the eighth consecutive year, the teams will play a 20-game conference schedule. This involves each of the 18 teams playing against three others both at home and away and facing the remaining 14 teams once, split between seven home games and seven away games.

The opponents for Illinois have been announced. The team will host Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Rutgers, Washington, and Wisconsin. Their away games will be against Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, and USC. Illinois will face Maryland, Nebraska, and Northwestern both at home and away.

The conference has not yet announced game dates, times, or television information.

Illinois recently concluded a 22-win season, advancing to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and achieving a final kenpom ranking of 17th. Over the last six years under Brad Underwood, they have achieved the record for most victories in Big Ten play and are part of a select group of four teams nationwide with six consecutive 20-win regular seasons.
