Illini women's golf heads into final round at Big Ten Championship tied for third

Fighting Illini women's golf team completed the second day of the 2025 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship in third place, with a score of 2-over par 578 at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The team trails the current leaders, Michigan State, by five strokes going into the final round.

Victoria Zheng advances to a tie for the first place after a second round score of 71, 1-under par. Zheng shot even par on the front nine and 1-under par on the back nine, concluding her round with a birdie on the 18th hole. Over the two days, she has accumulated 26 pars, which is fourth-most in the tournament.

Both Lexanne Halama and Anna Ritter are tied for 17th position, each scoring 73, 1-over par, in the second round. Halama achieved an even par on the front nine, while Ritter balanced a 1-over 37 on the front with an even par 36 on the back. Ritter's total of 26 pars matches Zheng's.

Yurang Li, tied for 30th, recorded a second round score of 75, 3-over par. Brielle Mapanao is tied for 75th after an 80, 8-over par. Zheng is sharing the lead with Oregon's Kiara Romano, ranked No. 5 nationally, and Michigan State's Brooke Biermann, ranked No. 24.

The Fighting Illini will resume tomorrow, starting from the first hole at 8:40 a.m. CT.
