A limited number of tickets remain for the upcoming "Kickin' Cancer" dinner and auction scheduled for April 16 at Gordyville USA, noted Illinois basketball coach Brad Underwood. He will host fellow Big Ten head coaches Chris Collins of Northwestern, Dana Altman of Oregon, and national TV analyst and former Purdue athlete Robbie Hummel at this year's Coaches vs. Cancer event.
The dinner, with its western theme, will take place in Gifford, Illinois, at was horse arena located 30 minutes from Champaign. Attendees are encouraged to wear Illini gear. The schedule features a dinner, live and silent auctions, and narratives from the speaker lineup, starting at 7 p.m. The entire program runs from 5-9 p.m.
The "Kickin' Cancer" fundraiser is a significant dinner within the national Coaches vs. Cancer initiative. The previous year's event attracted 1,700 participants and raised approximately $500,000 for cancer research and support.
