Chloe Cho, a standout gymnast from Illinois, has been named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season. This accolade, announced by the conference on February 18, sets a new record for the most Freshman of the Week honors in the program's history. Cho is now one award away from entering the top 10 in Big Ten history.
During her recent performances at the Zou to the Lou Quad on February 14, Cho matched her career high on beam with a score of 9.925, securing victory in that event. She also achieved a personal best on uneven bars with a score of 9.950, earning her a share of the event title. On February 16 at Iowa, Cho set another personal record on vault with a score of 9.900, narrowly winning that event by just 0.050 points. Her performance continued to impress as she scored 9.925 on floor and claimed the all-around title with a total score of 39.375.
Throughout this season, Cho has accumulated 11 event titles and ranks among the top 20 nationally on beam, floor, and in all-around competitions.
The Big Ten Weekly Awards for February 18 also recognized Jordan Chiles from UCLA as Gymnast of the Week and Emily Erb from Iowa alongside Frida Esparza from UCLA as Co-Event Specialists of the Week.
