On February 10, 2025, the Champaign Police Department and the Equity & Engagement Department participated in National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID). They attended events across Champaign that featured special activities to mark the occasion. NAAPID is a national initiative focused on boosting the involvement of African American parents in their children's education. The day highlights the important role parents have in academic success and aims to strengthen ties between families, schools, and the broader community.
