My name is Karley Yergler, and I am a junior pitcher from Mahomet, Illinois. I am currently majoring in interdisciplinary health and minoring in public health.
Since classes started the team has been happy to be back on campus and get working. This past week, we have had a focus of getting mentally and physically ready for our season to start in less than two weeks. In practice, we have been doing a lot of live at bats and situational work. Also, we have been starting our practices with meditation time lead by Coach V to get our mindsets right for practice.
As a transfer from Parkland College, I am so excited to begin my first season as an Illini! Since I grew up in Champaign County, I have been to many Illinois softball games, so it's crazy to believe I'm now one of the people I looked up to when I was a little girl in the stands at Eichelberger Field.
With that being said, the team is so excited for our season to begin and we hope to see you in the stands this spring!
