Due to a recent accident, the City of Champaign's Traffic and Lighting Section has installed stop signs at the intersection of Country Fair Drive and Church Street. This measure will remain in place until temporary power is restored by a generator. Once power is temporarily restored, the traffic signal will operate in flash mode until repairs are finished.
The City's contractor, CS&L, is tasked with making the necessary repairs to restore permanent power. The work is expected to be completed later this afternoon.
"Once temporary power has been restored, the signal will be in flash until work is completed," stated the City's announcement. The deployment of stop signs and subsequent repair efforts aim to ensure safety and normal traffic flow at this busy intersection.
