On January 17, 2025, the Equity and Engagement Community Safety and Justice staff conducted a neighborhood canvassing at 800 Crescent Drive following a gun violence incident. This initiative aims to build trust within communities affected by traumatic events and to inform residents about available services and support.

Neighborhood canvassing plays a crucial role in community engagement, particularly after incidents that may cause distress or fear among residents. By reaching out directly to the community, staff members strive to foster a sense of safety and provide reassurance that support is accessible.

The event was part of ongoing efforts by the Equity and Engagement Department to enhance community relations and ensure that residents are aware of resources designed to assist them in times of need.
