FOIA Request to Ford County Sheriff Regarding 2024 Arrest Records on January 7, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Chambana Sun have requested the arrest records for the year 2024 from the Ford County Sheriff's office under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
Our request specifically seeks a list of all arrests made from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. The information we have asked for includes details such as the arrestee's name, date of arrest, gender, race, date of birth and the crime committed.
As a media organization, we believe in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a positive response from the Ford County Sheriff's office and will continue our efforts in ensuring that information about local governmental affairs remains accessible and transparent for all.
