Ameren Illinois has announced a temporary closure of Chalmers Street between Wright Street and Sixth Street to facilitate a gas service connection at 608 E. Chalmers Street. The street closure is scheduled to start on Tuesday, December 17, and will last until Friday, December 20, 2024, subject to weather conditions. During this period, traffic in the area will be adjusted to ensure that one lane of westbound traffic remains open.
The work is part of Ameren Illinois' ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade its infrastructure. Residents and commuters are advised to plan accordingly and anticipate potential delays during the closure.
