On December 11, 2024, Rachel Joy, Director of the Equity and Engagement Department, participated as a panelist in a discussion organized by the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE). The event focused on "Operationalizing Policies to Foster Connected and Prosperous Immigrant Communities." GARE comprises over 13,000 members who work as racial equity practitioners and governmental staff across more than 400 jurisdictions.

The session was moderated by Briana Broberg, Midwest Regional Manager for Welcoming America. Alongside Joy, Christa Yoakum contributed as a panelist. Yoakum is a County Board Member in Lincoln, Nebraska, and serves as the Coordinator of Nebraska is Home.
