On December 2, 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony for the Bristol Place Senior Residences took place. Neighborhood Services collaborated with developer AHDVS, LLC to organize the event. Due to cold weather conditions, the ceremony was held indoors at the John Lee Johnson Clubhouse.

The upcoming project involves constructing a 60-unit affordable housing complex for seniors aged 62 and older. Representatives from various organizations participated in the event, including those from the Illinois Housing and Development Authority, the Housing Authority of Champaign County Board, AHDVS, LLC, as well as Mayor Feinen and NSD Director Rob Kowalski.

The planned complex will feature amenities such as a community center, media room, and fitness room. The total cost of this project is estimated at $20 million and it is expected to be completed by fall 2025.
