The City of Champaign has announced an initiative to offer up to two hours of free parking in the Hill Street Parking Deck throughout December. This measure aims to encourage residents and visitors to shop and dine in Downtown Champaign during the holiday season. The offer is valid until December 31, 2024, with a two-hour discount available for those parking longer than two hours.
Officials urge people to support local businesses and restaurants while noting that schedules or capacity limits may vary. There is no requirement for proof of purchase to receive the parking discount. Additionally, parking remains free on City holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays at both the parking deck and metered spaces.
