Summit on homelessness discusses current services and future plans

On November 12, 2024, the Continuum of Service Providers to the Homeless (CSPH) and the Community Coalition held the Summit on Homelessness at the Champaign Public Library. The event saw participation from local service providers, City and County staff, neighborhood group leaders, and individuals with lived experience of homelessness. In total, 95 people attended.

The summit featured a keynote address by Christine Haley, Chief of the Illinois Office to Prevent and End Homelessness. The agenda also included an overview of current homeless services in Champaign County and a roundtable discussion focused on implementing both existing and new services while identifying gaps in service provision. John Ruffin, Neighborhood Relations Manager, currently chairs the CSPH.
