The Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team, ranked No. 23, secured a decisive victory against Eastern Illinois with a score of 84-37 at the State Farm Center on Thursday night. This win marked head coach Shauna Green's 200th career victory.
Illinois displayed a strong performance with four players scoring in double figures. Jasmine Brown-Hagger led the team with a career-high 23 points off the bench, shooting 10-for-15 from the field. She also contributed five rebounds and two assists. Gretchen Dolan scored a career-best 13 points, adding four assists to her tally.
Kendall Bostic achieved her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Adalia McKenzie continued her impressive form by scoring in double figures for the third consecutive game, finishing with 11 points.
Genesis Bryant contributed nine points and four assists, while Brynn Shoup-Hill added nine points and seven rebounds to the team's efforts.
The Illini dominated from the start, holding Eastern Illinois scoreless for over four minutes and establishing an early lead that never wavered. By halftime, Illinois had built a substantial advantage of 41-15.
In the second half, Illinois maintained their momentum with an effective defense that limited Eastern Illinois' scoring opportunities. The Panthers were held to just two field goals in the third quarter as Illinois extended their lead further.
Illinois will next face Le Moyne at State Farm Center on Monday during their annual Field Trip Day event. Admission is free for this upcoming game.
