Illinois Women's Basketball Head Coach Shauna Green has confirmed the addition of Destiny Jackson to the Fighting Illini team. Jackson, a Chicago native, will join next season after signing a Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement during the National Signing Period.

Jackson is a 5'6" point guard from Whitney Young Magnet High School. She is ranked as the No. 28 prospect in the Class of 2025 and holds the top position in Illinois according to 247Sports. ESPNW's HoopGurlz rankings place her at No. 25 with a five-star rating.

During her high school career, Jackson earned several accolades including AP First Team All-State honors as a junior and an Honorable Mention as a sophomore. She has also been part of three Chicago Public League championship teams and named First Team All-Conference three times.

Her performance stats include an average of 16.6 points per game in the 2023-24 season, along with notable contributions in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks over previous seasons.

Destiny Jackson explained her decision to join Illinois: "I chose the University of Illinois because it felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus... The players and coaches welcomed me like family."

Coach Green expressed enthusiasm about Jackson's arrival: "We are so excited to have Destiny Jackson join our Illini family; she's an elite point guard that hails from the state of Illinois and from Chicago... We could not be more excited that she's a part of our family."

Jackson will play alongside current Illini Mia Zenere, having previously teamed up at Example Sports GUAA.
