The Big Ten Conference has announced the fall sports student-athletes who have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team. This recognition requires students to be part of a varsity team, enrolled full-time for at least 12 months, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Eighty-seven student-athletes from Illinois were acknowledged across five fall sports programs. Those with a perfect 4.0 GPA are highlighted in bold.
In football, several athletes were recognized, including Isaiah Adams (Sociology), Weston Adams (Engineering Technology and Management of Ag Systems), and Matthew Bailey (Kinesiology). The list also includes seniors like Bryce Barnes in Community Health and Tarique Barnes pursuing an MS in Strategic Brand Communication.
For men's cross country, notable mentions include Evan Cummins in Finance and Tyler Cushing in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Women's cross country honorees feature Audrey Ginsberg in Kinesiology and Halle Hill also studying Kinesiology.
In soccer, Kennedy Berschel was recognized for her work in Mechanical Engineering alongside Ashley Cathro pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology. Volleyball players like Caroline Barnes studying Information Sciences and Sarah Bingham focusing on Sustainable Design were also honored.
