Illinois volleyball player Caroline Barnes has been recognized as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree for the second consecutive year. The announcement was made on Tuesday.

Barnes, a junior, participated in 26 matches this season, primarily playing as a libero. She led the Illinois team with 331 digs and achieved 20 or more digs in four matches. Her season-high was 22 digs against Rutgers on October 22 and Minnesota on November 24. Additionally, she recorded 17 aces throughout the season, including three in a match against Bradley on September 12.

Academically, Barnes is pursuing a major in Information Sciences and recently received an Academic All-Big Ten distinction last week.

The CSC Academic All-District Women's Volleyball teams recognize top student-athletes for their performance both on the court and academically. Honorees from each district will move forward to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with results announced on January 9.
