Illinois volleyball is set to host Michigan for their final regular-season match at Huff Hall on November 18. The game will commence at 6 p.m. CT and will be available on B1G+. A Senior Day ceremony will follow the match to honor six seniors: Kennedy Collins, Vanessa Pan, Jessica Nunge, Raina Terry, Maddie Whittington, and Sophie Gregus.
The Illini have a record of 15-12 this season under head coach Chris Tamas, who is in his seventh year with the team. "Chris Tamas enters his seventh season at the helm for the Orange and Blue," states the press release.
In their previous encounter against Ohio State, Illinois emerged victorious in a five-set match. Raina Terry led with 27 kills, while Brooke Mosher achieved her 15th career double-double with 50 assists and 16 digs.
Historically, Illinois leads Michigan in their series with a record of 52-27. In their last meeting in Ann Arbor in 2022, Illinois won 3-1.
Raina Terry has been a standout player this season with notable achievements such as being ranked third nationally in attacks per set (13.09) and eighth for kills per set (4.63). She has accumulated a total of 491 kills this season alone.
Kennedy Collins reached her milestone of 400 career blocks earlier this season against UCF during the Boilermaker Challenge.
Michigan enters the match with a record of 7-18 under first-year head coach Erin Virtue. The Wolverines rank last in the conference for hitting percentage but lead in aces per set.
The Illini's defense has been strong throughout the season with multiple matches featuring double-digit blocks.
Raina Terry was named to the Big Ten Preseason Team for the second consecutive year. Last year she led Illinois with significant contributions including leading "the Orange and Blue with 444 kills."
Illinois was picked to finish seventh in league standings according to preseason polls announced by Big Ten coaches.
Coach Chris Tamas has guided Illinois through several successful seasons including an NCAA Final Four appearance in 2018. Under his leadership, numerous players have received individual accolades including All-America selections.
The current schedule features several key matches against Big Ten opponents including home-and-home series with Purdue and Wisconsin among others.
