Six University of Illinois football players are set to participate in the upcoming NFL Combine, which will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis from February 26 to March 4. The athletes, Isaiah Adams, Jer'Zhan Newton, Julian Pearl, Keith Randolph Jr., Tip Reiman, and Isaiah Williams, will showcase their skills in front of scouts and representatives from all 32 NFL teams. This event will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
The six Illini invitees mark a record number for the university's program. During the tenure of coach Bret Bielema, Illinois has seen 14 players invited to the combine over three years, a new high for the institution.
Since its inception in 1987, a total of 69 Illinois players have attended the NFL Combine. Live drills for this year's event start on Thursday, February 29. The schedule includes defensive linemen and linebackers on Thursday; defensive backs and tight ends on Friday; quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs on Saturday; and offensive linemen on Sunday.
The players have been assigned specific identification numbers for the event: Isaiah Adams (OL01), Jer'Zhan Newton (DL20), Julian Pearl (OL56), Keith Randolph Jr. (DL22), Tip Reiman (TE10), and Isaiah Williams (WO37). They will participate in various media sessions and physical evaluations throughout their time at the combine.
