Illinois baseball secured an outright Big Ten championship following a series sweep against Purdue, concluding with an 18-10 victory at Alexander Field. The win was confirmed after Nebraska's loss to Michigan State.

Drake Westcott led the offensive charge for Illinois, recording three hits, two home runs, and six RBIs. Ryan Moerman continued his home run streak with another in this game, contributing to his total of 18 home runs this season. Brody Harding also made significant contributions with four hits and three RBIs.

Regan Hall earned the win from the bullpen, while Korey Bunselmeyer secured his first save of the season by pitching three scoreless innings.

The game saw Illinois taking an early lead, which they expanded significantly in the sixth inning thanks to key performances by Westcott and Moerman. Purdue attempted a comeback but ultimately fell short as Illinois maintained their lead.

The Fighting Illini will now proceed to Omaha for the Big Ten Baseball Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face Penn State in their opening match.
