Three upperclassmen from the Fighting Illini are competing individually at the Highland Meadow Intercollegiate, with Piercen Hunt and Jerry Ji well-positioned to challenge for top spots. Timmy Crawford is also in contention for a top-20 finish.
Piercen Hunt, a senior from Hartland, Wisconsin, is currently 7-under after two rounds. He sits tied for second place behind Ben Warian of Minnesota, who leads at 14-under. Hunt began with a 68 (-3) in the first round and improved to a 67 (-4) in the second round.
Jerry Ji, a fifth-year senior from Hoofddorp, Netherlands, is just one stroke behind Hunt at 6-under. He tied for fourth place after carding a 67 (-4) in Round 1 and a 69 (-2) in Round 2.
Timmy Crawford, who transferred from Loyola Chicago, is currently tied for 21st place at 1-over. After starting Round 1 at three over par through four holes, he steadied himself to finish even-par over his last thirteen holes. In Round 2, he scored a two-under-par 69.
