Jackson Buchanan, a junior from Dacula, Georgia, and a member of the Illinois men's golf team, has been recognized as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. This accolade follows his impressive performance at the 34th Duck Invitational held at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon. His efforts led Illinois to secure a team title.

This recognition marks Buchanan's fourth career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor and his second this season. During the tournament, Buchanan excelled by leading in both Par-4 (3.94) and Par-5 (4.22) scoring categories. He recorded two of the three lowest individual rounds with consecutive scores of 67 (-4) in Rounds 2 and 3.

Buchanan overcame a challenging start with a 5-over par through his first 14 holes but finished strong by shooting 11-under over his final 40 holes, culminating in a score of 207 (-6). This performance secured him a three-stroke victory.

In total, Buchanan played 46 out of 54 holes at par or better during the event, achieving twelve birdies and one eagle. He is pursuing an operations management major while maintaining a GPA of 3.63.
