Illinois recently extended its unbeaten streak to four matches before suffering a narrow defeat to Kentucky. Against Louisville, Sydney Stephens and Lia Howard scored goals leading to a victory. However, the team fell short against Kentucky despite early pressure.
In their upcoming match against Missouri, Illinois trails in the all-time series but secured a win in their last encounter. Missouri's current season stands at 2-1-2 with notable players named to the SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist.
Pepperdine has opened their season with a record of 2-0-4 and was picked to finish third in the WCC. Sunday's game will be their first meeting with Illinois in Champaign.
