The Champaign Fire Department's Building Safety Division has issued several building permits for projects with a construction value of $250,000 or more. The total construction value for 2024 stands at $112,789,917.
Notable permits include a new multi-family project at 404 E Clark St valued at $5,666,116 and another at 110 Tower St valued at $10,835,000. An alteration project for solar energy at 2903 N Market is valued at $4,910,764.
Other significant projects include alterations for an oil change facility on W Bradley ($370,000), a fitness center on S First St ($310,000), and a restaurant on W Springfield ($555,000). New single-family homes are planned on Legends and Glen Abbey with values ranging from $370,000 to $438,000.
