Tracy Parsons and Mikal Washington from the Equity and Engagement Department, along with City Council member Will Kyles, attended the Family Academic Night at Booker T. Washington Elementary School on September 26, 2024. The event aimed to build connections between parents, children, and school staff while boosting academic support.
Parents were provided with instructional materials for home use and participated in professional development sessions. Meanwhile, students engaged in a mobile gaming activity designed for enjoyment. This initiative was described as "a wonderful opportunity to strengthen support for student success."
