Welcoming Week is a week of cultural celebration across the country. Welcoming Week 2024 is happening from September 13-22 with numerous opportunities to get involved. Through Welcoming Week, communities come together to strengthen their bonds and promote a culture of inclusivity, underscoring the importance of embracing diversity for a brighter future.
On Thursday, Sept 5, April Faulkner, Community Relations Specialist in the Equity & Engagement Department, sat down with Akua Forkuo-Sekyere, Director of the New American Welcome Center, to discuss this important week and highlight just a couple of the many events being offered.
This week includes more than 30 events across the county. Starting with the Kickoff event on Friday the 13th at Lincoln Square Mall and culminating with an Immigrant Business Showcase on Saturday the 21st at The Beat on Market Street.
