On August 2, 2024, staff from the City Manager’s Office, the Equity and Engagement Department, the Police Department, and Public Works Department gathered with their interns to celebrate the conclusion of the Summer Youth Employment Services (YES) Program. From 11 am to 1 pm, the team enjoyed lunch and engaged in games at West Side Park, marking a festive end to the interns' journey before they return to school.
Deputy City Manager Joan Walls attended to interact with the students. Community Relations Specialist Mikal Washing gave remarks about the students' growth and future. A special thank you was extended to the City’s Human Resources and Finance Departments for making this opportunity possible. The city expressed gratitude to all Summer YES interns for their dedication and hard work throughout the program.
