City of Gibson Pool Board met July 9

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Recognize Visitors

• Mindy Basi – Ford County Chronicle

Approve Minutes

• Gary Reiners motioned to approve the 05/23/2024 meeting minutes with Ernie Pearson seconding the motion. All votes were in favor. Minutes were approved.

Reports

 Financial Report

• N/A

Manager Report / Randy Ferguson:

• During a heavy storm, lightning struck a transformer which took out a pump and fuses. Randy was able to purchase replacements quicker than expected.

• The cleaning of just the diving pool after the storm took a great amount of time due to the depth of the pool. The Shark used to clean the debris was ran on one half of the pool at a time.

• Several gallons of chlorine were used to clean all the pools.

• The pool was closed on Thursday after the storm and was reopened to the public the following Thursday.

Old Business

• Status on self-closing & latching gate for the baby pool.

◦ This work was put on hold. Note that a temporary closure is being used on the gate until the new hinges and latch can be installed.

New Business

• Due to storms and water temperature, there was only one evening where the Adult Swim Night was held. 

Next Meeting:

• The next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6:00 P.M.

NOTE: We will continue to meet at the Gibson City Shooting Range until we are notified that City Hall is available.
