Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) participated in a House briefing on the investigation into the assassination attempt on President Trump. Following the briefing, Representative Miller issued a statement expressing her concerns about the ongoing investigation.
"I am gravely concerned that so many important questions remain unanswered, especially as reports suggest law enforcement and Secret Service were aware that this man posed a threat at multiple points during the day," Miller stated.
She voiced her support for the special House task force proposed by Speaker Johnson and Representative Cory Mills to investigate the incident further. Miller highlighted concerns regarding resource allocation, particularly pointing out that "Secret Service diverted resources to a last-minute Jill Biden event in Pittsburgh despite threats from Iran against President Trump's life."
Miller concluded by stating, "The American people deserve answers on how the leading candidate for President came within an inch of being assassinated, and Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle should resign for failing to adequately protect President Trump."
